Basic Module Arms & Hands Massage
The Basic Module Arms & Hands Massage is one of the next three basic modules, after the Basic Module Back & Shoulders Massage. Clients are often pleasantly surprised when their arms and hands are massaged. When they think about a massage, they tend to think of the back, shoulders, neck or legs. They often don't even know that the arms and hands can be massaged. However, when they experience on their own body, they discover how soothing and relaxing it is. The wonderful thing is that you can massage the arms and hands when the client is lying on their back or when they are lying on their belly. So the choice is flexible!
The order and build-up in pressure of the techniques are also important in this basic module. You will learn strokes (effleurages), kneading, frictions and other grips for a varied and extensive massage. In an online anatomy lesson, you can learn how ingeniously the arms and hands are put together. Because you will massage both in a supine and prone position, attention is also paid on how the client can carefully turn over on the massage table.
Topics in the Basic Module Arms & Hands Massage:
When participating in this module, you have access to this online learning environment. The period of access to the Knowledge Center is extended, so that you can absorb the theory about the arms and hands massage. This also gives you the opportunity to reread the lesson at a later time. At the moment, the Knowledge Center is in Dutch only, but you can use the translation function of your web browser.
In addition, you will have access to the arms and hands massage component of the basic module. This includes a description of all the techniques accompanied with color photos. There is also a video of each technique, in which you can see exactly how each technique is executed. The spoken instructions in the videos are in Dutch, but it is still educational to watch them. You can also download the practical overviews of the techniques on two A4 sheets to have with you while massaging. These are ideal for executing the order of the techniques correctly.
Available Formats for the Basic Module Arms & Hands Massage
- As a standalone module after completing the Basic Module Back & Shoulders Massage or The Workshop for Two.
- In combination with another basic module in one day.
- In combination with all the other basic modules (total of 4 modules) over 2 days or in 1 weekend.
- We are still considering whether we also want to offer this module in a fully online workshop.
English modules are done with two participants at the practice of the trainer. Therefore, there is a lot of personal attention, and you are also massaged by the trainer.
Advanced Modules
In addition to the four basic modules, there are six advanced modules: one module for new techniques on the legs and feet, three modules for the back, each of which comprises new techniques, one module with new techniques for the neck and face, and one module for the chest and abdomen. We are still working on translating these modules to English. We do not yet know when they will be available.
Hand Massage Course
Is massaging the hands really your thing? For example, because you are a manicurist or nail stylist, or because you want to massage the elderly at a care institution? Then you can also opt for the Hand Massage Course. This is separate from the modules mentioned above and only focuses on the hands and forearms. You will also learn some hand reflexology techniques that are not covered in this module.
